Everything a new player needs to begin their fitness adventure

Step 1: Download Fitscape

Fitscape is a free iOS app available on the App Store. Download it on your iPhone to get started. The app is free to download and play; a premium subscription unlocks additional dungeon runs per day and advanced features.

Step 2: Create Your Character

When you first launch Fitscape, you will create a character. Your character is your avatar in the world of Laboris. You will choose:

Choose a Character Class

Your class determines your starting stat distribution and which stats level fastest. Choose the class that most closely matches your real-world fitness style.

Class Primary Stats Best For
WARRIOR Strength, Constitution Weightlifters, gym athletes
RANGER Dexterity, Wisdom Runners, cyclists, outdoor athletes
ATHLETE Constitution, Dexterity Cross-trainers, all-around fitness
SCHOLAR Intelligence, Wisdom Yoga, Pilates, and mindfulness practitioners
MYSTIC Wisdom, Intelligence Meditators, Tai Chi, mindful movement
SOCIALITE Charisma, Constitution Group fitness, dance, team sports

Your class affects starting stats but does not lock you out of any activity. You can still earn XP in all six stats regardless of class.

Step 3: Connect Apple HealthKit

Fitscape reads your workout data from Apple Health. When prompted, grant Fitscape permission to read workout and activity data. Without this permission, no XP can be earned.

What Fitscape Reads

  • +Workout sessions (type, duration, calorie burn)
  • +Step count and walking/running distance
  • +Heart rate and active energy burned
  • +Mindfulness minutes (for Wisdom XP)

Privacy Note

Fitscape only reads data you have granted permission for. Your health data is used solely to calculate XP and is never sold. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Step 4: Complete a Workout and Earn XP

After connecting HealthKit, complete any workout using your Apple Watch, iPhone, or any HealthKit-compatible device. When you return to Fitscape, open the app and sync — your activity will automatically convert to XP for the corresponding stat.

How XP is Calculated

XP is calculated based on the type and duration of your workout. More intense and longer workouts earn more XP. Each activity type maps to a specific stat.

Example: 30-min Weightlifting

Maps to Strength (STR). Earns STR XP proportional to duration and calorie burn.

Example: 5km Run

Maps to Dexterity (DEX). Earns DEX XP based on distance and pace.

Example: 20-min Meditation

Maps to Wisdom (WIS). Earns WIS XP from mindfulness minutes logged.

Example: Group Fitness Class

Maps to Charisma (CHA). Earns CHA XP from group exercise duration.

Step 5: Understand Leveling

Fitscape has two parallel leveling systems — stat leveling and player leveling — that both advance as you exercise.

Stat Leveling

Each of the six stats (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA) levels up independently as you accumulate XP from matching activities. Each stat level grants a bonus:

  • STR: +Inventory slots
  • DEX: +Effectiveness with agility weapons/skills
  • CON: +5 max Health per level
  • INT: +3 max Mana per level
  • WIS: +2 max Stamina per level
  • CHA: +NPC interaction bonuses

Player Leveling

Your total accumulated XP across all stats contributes to your overall player level. When you reach a new player level:

  • + You receive a notification
  • + Health is fully restored
  • + Stamina is fully restored
  • + Mana is fully restored
  • + New content may unlock
