DUNGEONS
Dungeon discovery, exploration, encounters, and rewards
Last Updated: February 2026
What Are Dungeons?
Dungeons are multi-stage challenge environments in the world of Laboris. They are the primary way to earn loot, gold, and experience beyond what your workouts provide. Every dungeon run is a narrative adventure — the outcomes of your encounters are determined by the world of Fitscape based on your character's stats and chosen skills.
Dungeons are powered by real-world movement. Your progress through a dungeon's stages is determined by the distance you travel in the real world after entering. The more you move, the further you explore.
The Dungeon Loop
| Phase | What Happens | Real-World Trigger |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Discovery | A new dungeon appears on your map | Travel a certain distance, then manually search |
| 2. Entry | You begin a dungeon run | Choose to enter from your dungeon list |
| 3. Exploration | Your character moves through dungeon stages | Real-world distance traveled |
| 4. Encounter | A challenge is triggered | Automatic, based on exploration progress |
| 5. Resolution | Encounter outcome is determined by stats and skills | Tap to resolve (skills can be used) |
| 6. Completion | All stages cleared — dungeon is complete | Sufficient real-world distance covered |
How Are Dungeons Discovered?
Dungeons are not automatically discovered. After you have traveled a certain cumulative distance in the real world, the option to search for nearby dungeons becomes available. You must manually initiate the search — if you are successful, a new dungeon will be added to your dungeon list and you will receive a notification.
Important
You can only be in one dungeon at a time. Complete or abandon your current dungeon before beginning a new one.
Dungeon Exploration Requirements
To enter and explore a dungeon, your character must meet these conditions:
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Health above 0 | You cannot enter a dungeon if your HP is depleted — rest and recover first |
| Not in another dungeon | Only one active dungeon run at a time |
| Not visiting a merchant | Complete your merchant interaction before entering |
| Daily dungeon limit (free users) | Free accounts have a daily cap on dungeon runs; premium increases this cap |
Encounters and Combat
As you explore a dungeon, your character will trigger encounters — challenges that must be resolved to continue. The type of encounter and its difficulty are determined by the dungeon's level and the world of Fitscape.
Encounter Outcomes
When you resolve an encounter, three things are determined:
Narrative
A story description of what happened — victory, partial success, or setback — written to reflect your character's actions
Consequences
Changes to your Health, Mana, and Stamina based on the encounter outcome
Rewards
Loot, XP, and gold for successful encounters
Using Skills in Encounters
Before resolving an encounter, you can use skills from your character's unlocked skill set. Skills affect the outcome by:
| Effect Type | Description | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Gain an advantage | Bonus to a roll or ability to reroll a failure | Mana or Stamina |
| Reduce difficulty | Lower the challenge rating of an encounter | Mana or Stamina |
| Bypass encounters | Skip a challenge entirely using stealth or persuasion | Mana or Stamina |
| Enable new options | Unlock alternative solutions to a problem | Mana or Stamina |
Dungeon Rewards
Completing a dungeon is the primary way to earn items and gold in Fitscape. The quality of your rewards scales with the dungeon's difficulty.
| Reward | Description | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| XP | Bonus experience points | Supplemental — most XP still comes from workouts |
| Gold | Primary currency for purchases | Used at merchants for items and upgrades |
| Loot | Weapons, armor, consumables | Rarity scales with dungeon difficulty |
Item Rarity Tiers
| Rarity | Color | Drop Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Common | White | Most frequent |
| Uncommon | Green | Frequent |
| Rare | Blue | Occasional |
| Epic | Purple | Rare — higher dungeons |
| Legendary | Orange | Very rare — difficult dungeons |
| Mythical | Gold | Extremely rare — top-tier dungeons |
